Activate a computer with no internet
Most shops never need this page. It is for a production machine that is kept off the network — the computer does not need a connection, but you do, and a phone is enough.
How it works
On the computer that prints
Open Plate Software, click Licence, and choose Activate offline. It shows a Computer ID — a line starting PSDEV, in groups of four.
Here, on any device with internet
Your phone will do. Type your activation code and that Computer ID into the form, and check the read-back matches the screen across the workshop.
Carry the key across
You get a file to download, the key on screen to copy, and a copy by email. Use whichever suits — a memory stick is usually quickest.
If that computer can reach the internet
You do not need any of this. Type your code straight into Plate Software on that machine and it sorts itself out — see activating a computer.
What to expect afterwards
An offline computer cannot collect its own renewed key, so you will repeat this once a year. We email the keys at renewal as well, which for most shops is enough on its own — the machine only needs the file, not a connection.
